As with most other places around the world, different regions in China are known for different things. Some regions are known for their food; others are known for their clothing, but this particular region in Sichuan province is known for its spirits. Specifically, a spirit called baijiu, which is immensely popular in China. It’s so popular, in fact, that it makes up around a third of all alcohol sales in the world by some estimates.

So it’s no surprise that a traveler passing through Sichuan province might take notice of giant buildings shaped like baijiu bottles, such as the one pictured in this photo.
