Jackie Brown, directed by Quentin Tarantino, featured Pam Grier in her classic flight attendant outfit. Though the outfit wasn’t as flashy as some of the other costumes Grier donned, it still became iconic all on its own.

Grier wasn’t supposed to play the lead character in the 1997 movie, but Quentin Tarantino, a long-time fan, begged her to be in the film. Tarantino had wanted her to be in Pulp Fiction, but he knew her strong onscreen presence would have been hard for audiences to accept, especially in the scene when Eric Stoltz was yelling at her would-be character.
