SpinOut was a 1966 musical comedy that starred Elvis Presley as both the lead singer of a band and a part-time race car driver. The film made millions at the box office, as fans clamored to see the Hollywood heartthrob in a lead role.
Christie’s auctioned off the red button-down shirt that Presley wore in the film as Mike McCoy. The shirt, which was auctioned off in 2004, had a label inside its collar that read, “Anton Hollywood West California,” as well as a label that said “MGM” in the center. This red shirt was on pretty much every image used to promote Spinout, so it’s no wonder it sold for $12,000 at auction.
