As Iron Man fans will note, the Iron Man suit went through a lot of changes. The original suit, which Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark character created under duress when he was stuck in a terrorist hideout after being captured, looked way different than the sleek, high-tech Iron Man seen in the blockbuster franchise.
There was also another original Iron Man-esque suit, called “Iron Monger,” which Obadiah Stane wore when he attacked Iron Man in the first film. Iron Monger, which looked very similar to the cave-made Iron Man suit, went up for auction at the Prop Store, where it sold for thousands. The suit was made of fiberglass shells, which were connected to a metal structure.
