Star Wars: Princess Leia’s Gold Bikini

Worn By: Carrie Fisher
Year: 1983
Value: $96,000*

A 2015 auction saw some valuable Star Wars memorabilia sold, and few pieces sold at auction rival the cultural effect of the gold chain bikini, which Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia wore when she was enslaved by Jabba the Hut. The costume included chain links and a collar.

Richard Miller, who designed the costume, included a letter of authenticity in the auction. An anonymous bidder won the auction for the bikini, paying nearly $100,000 for it. Another big-seller at the event was a miniature replica of Princess Leia’s spaceship, which sold for $450,000, more than twice what it was expected to sell for.
