Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker was the defining emblem of the Star Wars franchise. When people think of Star Wars, chances are Luke Skywalker and his trusty lightsaber are not far from their minds. As you can imagine, such a notable piece of movie memorabilia sold for big bucks at auction.
The prop Mark Hamill used (sad to say, the light saber isn’t truly magical in real life) in the film sold for nearly $300,000 at auction in 2018. His other lightsaber, which he used in Star Wars: A New Hope, as well as Empire Strikes Back, had sold for almost $500,000 to Ripley, an Orlando company the year before.
