Gone with the Wind: Scarlett’s Dress

Worn By: Vivien Leigh
Year: 1940
Value: $137,000*

In the history of cinema, Gone with the Wind was one of the very first large-scale blockbusters. As such, it has remained a legendary movie that is referenced often, thanks in part to the efforts of leading lady Vivien Leigh. Leigh’s wonderful facial expressions brought Scarlett O’Hara to life.

The elaborate costumes also helped, including this black and grey dress worn by Leigh in some of the scenes. Although it was allegedly very cheap to make, the dress sold for $137,00 at an auction in Beverly Hills in 2015.
