Alex Martin – Portuguese/African | Whoopi Goldberg’s Daughter

Alex Martin is the daughter of Hollywood celebrity Whoopi Goldberg with former husband Alvin Martin, a rehabilitation center counselor. The American actress and producer is best known for her role in the 1993 movie Quest of the Delta Knights as Mannerjay. In 1985, Alex made her film debut in the hit film The Color Purple along with her mother and actors Danny Glover and Oprah Winfrey, for which the movie received accolades and credits like eleven Oscar Award nominations. She also played the part of a kid in her mother’s film, Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit.

On the other hand, her mom is among the celebrities who received multiple awards and recognitions in the entertainment industry. Goldberg has won an Emmy Award, Academy Award, Grammy Award, and Tony Award, becoming one of the sixteen entertainers to win all awards. Among Whoopi’s films were Ghost, Sister Act, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and Star Trek: The Next Generation, to name a few.
