Called the “Most Beloved Power Couple in Sports,” Women’s World Cup winner Megan Rapinoe and three-time WNBA champion Suzanne Brigit Bird first met in the run-up to the 2016 Rio Olympics, crossing paths during a photoshoot for media circulation. In 2017, Bird confirmed her sexuality publicly and her relationship with Rapinoe, with whom she had started dating in the fall of 2016. In October 2020, Rapinoe proposed to her girlfriend by the pool in the afternoon in Antigua.

With most sports on hiatus during this global health crisis, Rapinoe and Bird spent their time together at home, proven by the adorable insurance ads they did for the firm Symetra. Using an iPad and iPhone, the couple shot the ads at home, showing the viewers an “In This Together” message. The two, indeed, made the people feel that they’re not alone.
